Ray Ferrier is a divorced docker and a father nothing less than perfect, which does not maintain any more but the episodical relations with his/her Robbie son, 17 years, and his daughter Rachel, 11 years. A few minutes after his ex-wife and the husband of the latter entrusted the guard of the children to him, a powerful storm bursts. Ray then attends a spectacle which will upset its life forever…

As of the credits, Steven Spielberg replants the roots of a cinema of adventure by giving to his film a retro pace, while adopting a modern and current vision world. By looking at the extraterrestrial invasion through the eyes of a man lambda, the realizer insufflates with his account an unsuspected force. In background, the great adventure and confusing tables apocalyptic, with the first, the perfectly stated, limpid and fascinating family drama. Both play cat and with the mouse but in their many crossings, this perfectly controlled film pours in the splendid one. This edition offers a sufficiently rich and relevant interactivity so that one is interested in it from beginning to end. The second DVD which accomodates all the no-claims bonus does not propose less than 12 more or less long video modules which reconsider the work of adaptation of the work of H.G. Wells and on the production of a film which will have required only 70 days of turning! These often attractive documents make admirably well the light on the manufacture of Spielberg, a superbly oiled “machine” where reign, in addition to a concern of the constant detail, an environment certainly studious but also very relaxed.
