This film resembles a small Gabin of series for all those which forgot it, whereas it acts neither more nor less LARGER SOUND SUCCESSES PUBLIC with the boxoffice!!!! Yes: with its almost six million entries, “the thunder of god” had made move whole France, at the time of its exit, in 1965. It should be said that the distribution was there for much: Gabin gave the counterpart to Michele Mercier and Robert Hossein, who triumphed then in “Angelica”. And the film? Gabin camps there a veterinary surgeon with the retirement which collects in its sumptuous property of the Nantes countryside a prostitute (Michele Mercier). Its “guard” (Robert Hossein) sees that of an evil eye, the more so as Gabin wants to leave it this “trade”. At the same moment, the relations between Gabin and his wife (Allemande Lilli Micrometer caliper) are with watershed… Rural comedy, “the thunder of god” joins together all qualities of the “cinema of dad”: rythmée, profiting from decorations bucolic and shone upon filmed in a splendid black and white, accompanied by the splendid music by George Garvarentz… All that the cinema can offer, “thunder of god” the offer. Moreover, Gabin is exactly as it is liked and Michele Mercier is beautiful and touching.

Synopsis
Félicien Mezeray, second-hand dealer of art, discover one day authentic Modigliani. As much to say that fortune is with him. Finally almost. Synopsis
Inconsolable since the death of his wife, the banker Rene Duchesne (Jean Gabin) is about to put an end to his days when Suzanne (Mireille Darc), his former chambermaid, intervenes and the inaccuracy of the beloved wife reveals to him. Destroyed, Duchesne decides to disappear and start again its life. Jean-Paul Chanois was one of the French scenario writers of the post-war periods most disputed by criticisms of the New Wave, which considered its cinema poor and empesé.
Aujourd'hui, his films let himself view with more indulgence, even a certain nostalgia of a cinema which did not have an other claim to only divert. All the interest of this comedy of 1964, adapted of a part of Claude Gével by George Derrick and Claude Sautet, and dialogued by the impossible to circumvent Pascal Garden, lies in interpretation. Indeed, even those which the thick-skinned play of Jean Gabin leaves of marble, will be able only to enjoy the appearances of Mireille Darc, Philippe Noiret or Liselotte Pulver, inter alia.

Synopsis
Paul Shepherd, known as Paulo the diams, set up with his friend Walter a gold traffic of remunerative: it is always easy to find somebody who, in the hope to gain five million, agrees to make an outward journey to Tokyo while transporting thirty kilos of gold and to return to Paris with invaluable Japanese antiquities as a payment. Thanks to a pleiad of international actors (one particularly notices Jean Gabin, George Raft returning to its first roles of ganster and Claudio Brook) this film manages to find its rate/rhythm. While being based on dialogues of Alphonse Boudard, the realizer makes us benefit from his gouaille been useful magistralement by the actors like Marcel Bozzufi. Once more, Denys of Patellière had in hand all the elements to do one of best police films of the Sixties.
