Paul Shepherd, known as Paulo the diams, set up with his friend Walter a gold traffic of remunerative: it is always easy to find somebody who, in the hope to gain five million, agrees to make an outward journey to Tokyo while transporting thirty kilos of gold and to return to Paris with invaluable Japanese antiquities as a payment. Thanks to a pleiad of international actors (one particularly notices Jean Gabin, George Raft returning to its first roles of ganster and Claudio Brook) this film manages to find its rate/rhythm. While being based on dialogues of Alphonse Boudard, the realizer makes us benefit from his gouaille been useful magistralement by the actors like Marcel Bozzufi. Once more, Denys of Patellière had in hand all the elements to do one of best police films of the years soixante
